1 Rinse orange in hot water, wipe dry, cut off 1 slice and reserve. Squeeze juice from remaining orange and transfer 1 tablespoon to a small plate.
2 Place about 1/2 tablespoon chopped almonds on another plate. Dip the edge of a serving glass in the orange juice, then in the chopped almonds and set aside.
3 Combine the remaining orange juice and almonds with the soy milk, yogurt and almond syrup to taste in a blender and puree briefly. Fill the prepared glass with ice cubes, pour in the almond smoothie, garnish with the orange slice and serve immediately.
