800 grams Tomatoes
2 onions
2 garlic cloves
3 Tbsps olive oil
1 tsp sweet ground paprika
½ tsp dried thyme
½ tsp ground fennel seeds
150 grams yellow Cherry tomatoes
2 Tbsps freshly chopped Basil
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 pinch sugar
salt

Preparation steps

Rinse the tomatoes and remove the core. Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water. Remove from the water, peel, and coarsely chop. Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Heat the oil in a pan, and sauté both. Add the tomatoes, paprika, thyme, and fennel. Simmer for 15 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally.

Rinse and halve the yellow cherry tomatoes. Add the yellow cherry tomatoes and the basil to the sauce. Season to taste with vinegar, salt, pepper, and sugar.
