Preparation steps

1.

Thaw the puff pastry, divide into 2 equal portions and roll out each portion on a floured work surface into thin sheets.

2.

Rinse and trim the asparagus, and cut off the woody ends. Cut the asparagus into pieces and blanch in boiling salted water for 8 minutes. Drain well.

3.

Cut the camembert cheese into small pieces. Brush 1 sheet of pastry with some butter and place the blanched asparagus and camembert pieces in the form of piles over it (about 10 piles at equal distance). Season with salt and pepper. Lay the second sheet of pastry over, press it down slightly between the piles, and cut with a cookie cutter or a glass (something with a thin edge) into 10 patties. Pinch the edges slightly and place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Brush the patties with a little butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (fan: 160°C, gas mark 2-3) (approximately 350°F) until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
