250 milliliters Whipped cream
100 grams grated Cheese (such as Gruyère, Emmentaler)
100 Crème fraiche
2 tablespoons freshly chopped Fresh herbs (such as marjoram and thyme)

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Peel and halve the garlic. Rub a gratin dish with the cut side of the garlic.

Rinse, peel and thinly slice the potatoes. Line a baking dish with the potatoes, slightly overlapping. In a bowl, mix together the cream, cheese, crème fraîche and herbs. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and pour the mixture over the potatoes, just barely covering. Add a little more cream if necessary. Bake until golden brown, 35-40 minutes.

If desired, heat the broiler for the last 10 minutes of cooking and broil the top to crisp.
