Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C upper and lower heat.

Peel and halve garlic. Rub shallow gratin dish with garlic and butter.

Peel potatoes and place in cold water. Season cream with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Slice potatoes with vegetable slicer into thin slices and layer, overlapping, in a gratin dish. Pour cream over so that potatoes are just covered. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. If gratin browns too quickly, cover with aluminum foil. Remove from oven and garnish with herb blossoms. Serve immediately.
