- 1 cup shelled almonds
- ¼ cup shelled Pistachio
- 1.333 cups Dark chocolate (roughly chopped)
- ⅔ cup butter (diced)
- 3 eggs
- ¾ cup superfine caster sugar
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
Preparation steps
1.
Toast the nuts in a hot pan without fat until they release their aromas. Remove from the pan, allow to cool, chop roughly and put to one side.

Heat the oven to 180°C (160 fan), 350°F, gas 4 and line a springform cake tin with grease-proof paper.
3.
Melt the chocolate with the butter in a bain marie over hot, but not boiling water. Remove from the hob and cool until lukewarm.

Beat the eggs and add to the chocolate together with the sugar. Sieve the flour over the top and fold in, together with the nuts. Spoon the mixture into the cake tin and bake in the oven for around 30 minutes.
5.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool before serving.
