- 1 ½ cups Nut (peanuts, almonds, etc.)
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ cup toasted Sesame seeds
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 Tbsp White vinegar
- ⅜ cup water
Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line a 25cm x 15cm|10" x 6" baking tin with non-stick baking paper.

Place the nuts on a baking tray and toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes until lightly browned. Scatter over the base of the baking tin with half the sesame seeds.

Heat the sugar, vinegar and water in a heavy-based pan over a low heat until the sugar has dissolved.
4.
Bring to a boil, cover the pan and cook steadily for about 15 minutes until light amber in colour and a little of the mixture forms a hard crack when dropped into chilled water;150°C|300°F on a sugar thermometer.
5.
Pour over the nuts and seeds in the tin and sprinkle the remaining sesame seeds on top. Mark into pieces while warm and cut or break into pieces when cold.
