500 grams Pastry flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsps Baking powder
20 grams soft butter
200 milliliters milk
vegetable oil (for the pot)

Preparation steps

1.

Put flour with salt and baking powder into a bowl. Add butter and milk and mix with an electric mixer into a smooth, firm dough. If dough is too sticky, add a little flour into the mixture.

Grease a cast-iron pot with oil.

Shape dough into a loaf and place in the pot. Brush with milk and cut crosswise into 8 segments. Cover with lid and place on hot embers (possibly hanging) until golden brown for about 40 minutes. The bread is fully baked when it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

4.

Serve still slightly warm or cooled.
