300 grams very ripe Tomatoes
1 finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove
1 bay leaf
1 Tbsp olive oil
2 water
1 green Pepperoncini
salt

1 tsp sugar
1 minced Basil

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse the tomatoes, then blanch in boiling water. Remove the tomatoes from the water and peel. Halve the tomatoes, remove the core, and coarsely chop.

Heat the olive oil in a frying pan. Pass the garlic through a press. Sweat the onion and the garlic in the hot oil until translucent. Add the bay leaves and the tomatoes, and sauté for 5 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan. Slice the pepperoncini, then add to the tomato mixture. Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes, then season to taste with salt, pepper, and sugar.  Sprinkle the basil over the sauce, and serve.
