Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F) convection.

Rinse the figs and cut crosswise. Top each with 1 tablespoon blue cheese and sprinkle with freshly ground black pepper. Then wrap each fig with a slice of bacon and fasten firmly with a toothpick. Place the figs in a buttered baking dish and bake in the oven until the cheese has melted, about 5-7 minutes.

As a starter, place 2 figs on each small plate and serve with white bread, if desired.
