Marinated Beef with Radicchio Salad
Thinly slice the beef and place in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk the vinegar with the soy sauce. Season with pepper to taste. Pour over the beef and allow to marinade for 15 minutes.
Cut the radicchio into bite-sized pieces, rinse and spin dry. Rinse the basil, shake dry, pluck leaves and finely chop. In a bowl, whisk the lemon juice with the sugar and 1 tablespoon of the olive oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste. In a bowl, stir the radicchio and basil with the dressing.
Place the beef slices in a shallow ovenproof dish or on a foil-lined baking sheet. Drizzle with the remaining olive oil. Cook under the oven broiler for 1 minute. Season with salt to taste. Serve with the salad.
