4 potatoes (thickly sliced)
5 cups lamb stock
1 sprig fresh thyme

Normal Cooking: Follow the recipe from step 2 to the end of step 4, layering the ingredients in a large pan. Cover, bring to a boil and simmer slowly for 21/1-3 hours until the meat is very tender.

Preparation steps

1.
Preheat the slow cooker if necessary – see manufacturer’s instructions.
2.
Trim the meat of any excess fat.
3.
Layer the meat with the onions, carrots and potatoes in the slow cooker pot.
4.
Mix the stock with the thyme, salt and a pinch of pepper and pour over the ingredients in the slow cooker pot.
5.
Cover and cook on low for 5 hours or until the meat is very tender.
