2 cloves
1 fresh bay leaf
1 ⅔ cups milk
1 cup white Bread (crusts removed)
2 Tbsps butter
2 Tbsps Crème fraiche
salt
freshly ground peppers
Nutmeg
2 fresh bay leaves (for garnishing)

Preparation steps

1.
Peel the onion and stud it with the cloves.
2.
Put the onion, milk and bay leaf in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Simmer very gently for approximately 15 minutes.
3.
Remove the onion and the bay leaf.
4.
Crumble the bread into the milk. Remove from heat and allow to soak for 15 minutes.
5.
Stir in the butter, creme fraiche, salt, pepper and nutmeg. Season to taste.
6.
Fill a bowl with the sauce. Serve sprinkled with nutmeg and garnished with the bay leaves.
