Preparation steps

1.

Beat the sugar, 190 grams (approximately 7 ounces) butter and eggs until fluffy.

2.

Mix the flour, almonds, baking powder and cocoa powder. Alternately stir the flour mixture and the milk into the egg mixture. Fold in the chocolate.

3.

Peel the pears, quarter and remove the core. Grease 2 small springform pans (each 18 cm diameter) with the remaining butter.

4.

Divide the batter in half. Divide that batter between the two pans. Top with pear slices and pour in the remaining batter.

5.

Bake for about 50 minutes at 180°C (approximately 350°F).

6.

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with brown sugar. Let cool, cut into pieces and serve.
