Preparation steps
1.
Peel and chop the carrots. Melt the butter in a skillet and add the carrots. Pour in 200 ml (approximately 3/4 cup) of water. Simmer, covered, until the carrots are tender, about 10 minutes.

Peel the apple, quarter, core and cut into small cubes. Add the diced apple to the carrot mixture, and continue to simmer another 5 minutes.

Drain the carrot-apple mixture through a fine sieve. Add the carrots and apples to a blender and pulse until fine. Stir in the oatmeal and honey. Serve sprinkled with pistachios.
4.
If desired, garnish with apple slices and sliced carrots.
