Preheat the oven to 250°C (approximately 485°F). Peel and halve the garlic. Rinse and finely dice the tomatoes.
Rinse the basil, pat dry, and chiffonade. Mix the basil with the tomatoes, then season to taste with salt and pepper.
Toast the slices of bread in the oven. Remove from the oven and rub with the cut sides of the halved garlic. Drizzle the bread with the olive oil, top with the tomato mixture, and serve immediately.
