1 bunch scallions
2 Tbsps honey
1 Tbsp ginger (finely grated)
2 garlic cloves
6 Tbsps light soy sauce

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse pork belly and cut into approximately 6 x 6 cm (approximately 2.5 x 2.5 inch) pieces.

Peel, chop and crush garlic with a little salt to a paste.

3.

Combine honey, ginger, garlic and soy sauce. Rub meat with the mixture. Pour a little water into a roasting pan (so that just the bottom is covered) and bake meat in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 30 minutes. Add sauce and water if necessary.

4.

Rinse and dry scallions, cut into 6 cm (approximately 2.5 inch) long pieces. Add to meat and increase temperature to 220°C (approximately 425°F), allow met to brown for about 5-10 minutes. Place meat on plates, garnish with scallions and serve. If desired, accompany with cooking honey sauce.
