16 Nuremberger grilled sausages
3 Tbsps vegetable oil
600 grams starchy potatoes
salt
2 Tbsps butter
140 milliliters lukewarm milk
2 Tbsps freshly chopped parsley
freshly ground peppers
freshly grated Nutmeg

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Peel the onions and cut into thin rings. Lightly oil a baking sheet and place the sausages on it. Sprinkle the mustard seeds over the sausages and bake the sausages, turning them occasionally, until cooked through, about 25 minutes.

Peel and rinse the potatoes and roughly chop. Cook the potatoes in a pan of boiling salted water until knife-tender, about 25 minutes.

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pan. Cook over low heat, shaking the pan occasionally until the potatoes are dry. Press the potatoes through a potato ricer, transfer to a bowl, and stir together with the butter and the milk until smooth. Stir in the parsley, and season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Serve mashed potatoes with the sausages .
