2 Sausage
300 grams Sauerkraut
50 milliliters Beef broth
50 milliliters white wine
400 grams starchy potatoes
80 milliliters hot milk
2 Tbsps butter
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 tsp Juniper berries
1 bay leaf
1 tsp Prune
salt
freshly ground peppers
freshly grated Nutmeg

Preparation steps

1.

Rinse the potatoes and steam for about 30 minutes.

Mix the sauerkraut with juniper, bay leaf, prune, white wine and the broth in a pot. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer about 20 minutes. Let it simmer uncovered a little at the end.

3.

Peel potatoes, press through a potato ricer and mix with hot milk and butter, and stir until mixture becomes a smooth puree. Season with salt and nutmeg.

4.

Saute the bratwurst in hot oil 3-4 minutes on each side. Then serve with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut.
