500 grams Rye flour
1 packet Dry yeast
15 grams Sourdough powder
1 Tbsp salt
1 Tbsp Apple syrup
2 Tbsps sunflower oil
butter (for the pan)

Preparation steps

1.

Mix the flour with yeast, sourdough powder and salt. Mix with 350 ml of lukewarm water (approximately 12 ounces) and the oil and syrup. Knead to a smooth dough that no longer sticks to hands. Form into a ball and put into the bowl, cover and let rest in a warm place for 1 hour.

Butter a baking sheet. Knead the dough on a floured surface and roll into a strand of 70 cm length (approximately 28 inches) and set inside a ring on the baking sheet. Press the ends together. Let rest covered for 1 hour.

3.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Bake for 35-40 minutes.
