1 ¼ cups all-purpose flour

Preparation steps

1.
Heat the oven to 220°C (200° fan) 425°F gas 7. Put 6 popover tins on a baking tray.
2.
Divide the oil between the popover tins and put into the oven to become smoking hot while you make the batter.
3.
Put the flour into a mixing bowl with salt and pepper to taste.
4.
Beat in the eggs until blended, then gradually beat in the milk until smooth.
5.
Pour the batter into the hot tins and bake for 10-15 minutes, until well risen and puffy. Serve immediately.
