- 4 ½ cups flour (plus additional for kneading)
- ½ tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp Nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup butter
- 1 ⅔ cups sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Sour cream
- Marmalade (for topping)
- fresh Fruit (for topping)
Preparation steps
1.
In a medium bowl combine 4 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time and mix until well incorporated.

Gradually add dry ingredients, alternating with sour cream. The dough will be sticky. Place in bowl and cover with plastic wrap and chill for at least 2 hours.

Preheat oven to 350º F / 175º C. Grease a cookie sheet.

Knead dough a little at a time with flour until dough is not sticky. Roll out on a floured surface about 1/4 inch thick. Cut with a cookie cutter and place on prepared cookie sheet

Bake for 6 minutes - turn pan and continue for 3-4 minutes more, just until cookie is done to the touch and lightly browned. Let cool.
7.
Top with marmalade and fresh fruit of your choice to serve.
