250 grams butter
250 grams sugar
2 eggs
1 organic lemon (zested)
2 generous pinches Ground clove
2 generous pinches Cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon
100 grams almonds (ground)
500 grams Pastry flour
½ packet Baking powder
100 grams slivered almonds

Preparation steps

1.

Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Knead in eggs, lemon zest, spices, almonds, baking powder and flour. Shape into a ball, wrap with plastic and chill for 1 hour.

Grease a cookie mold. Roll out dough, then press with cookie mold and cut off excess edges. Place pressed cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Continue to roll out dough and press cookies until all dough is used.

Sprinkle flaked almonds onto dough and bake cookies for about 10 minutes, until golden brown.

Remove, let cool slightly, then serve.
