1 onion
2 garlic cloves
1 red Pepperoncini
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 sm can peeled Tomatoes
5 Tbsps Red wine
4 sprigs Basil

Preparation steps

Peel and finely dice the onion. Rinse the pepperoncino and cut into slices. Heat the oil in a saucepan, and sauté the onion, pepperoncino, and the garlic. Drain the tomatoes. Add the tomatoes to the pan, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Add the red wine, cover, and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes.

Cook the penne in boiling salted water according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the penne, add to the sauce, and mix until combined. Garnish with the basil and serve.
