Preparation steps

peel and quarter the pears. Remove the core and coarsely chop. Add the pears to a saucepan with the orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg, the star anise, and 2 tablespoons of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Fill the prepared jars to the brim with the hot chutney. Seal tightly, and cool completely. This will last for one week chilled in the refrigerator.
