Ingredients

For the meatballs
1 day-old White roll
1 onion
250 grams mixed Ground meat
1 egg
1 packet Fresh herbs (Provence)
salt
white peppers (freshly ground)
80 grams Feta
Frying oil
For the sauce
1 pkg crushed Tomatoes (500 ml)
1 bunch scallions
2 Tbsps Caper
salt
white peppers (freshly ground)

Preparation steps

For the meatballs: Soak bread in lukewarm water. Peel onion and chop finely. Combine ground beef, egg, onion and herbs in a bowl. Squeeze bread and add to the mixture, season with salt and pepper and mix well.

Cut feta cheese into cubes. Make balls out of the meat mixture and add cheese cubes to them. Heat oil to 175°C (approximately 350°F) and cook meatballs, few at a time, until golden brown on all sides. Drain meatballs on paper towels.

For the sauce: Place tomatoes into a bowl. Rinse and finely chop scallions. Rinse parsley, shake dry and chop. Add scallions, parsley and capers to tomatoes and mix well, season with salt. Arrange meatballs on plates and serve with the sauce.
