2 large onions

Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 200 ° C.

Cut baguette into slices and place on a lined with parchment paper baking sheet. Toast bread in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 2-3 minutes. Remove from oven and drizzle with olive oil and rub with garlic.

Rinse and dry tomatoes, cut into slices. Peel onions and cut into wedges. Heat 2/3 of remaining oil in a pan and saute onions for a few minutes. Layer bread slices, onions and tomatoes, alternating, in a baking dish (or 4 small ramekins). Combine broth with cream, egg and parsley, season with salt and pepper and mix well. Pour over gratin and sprinkle with cheese and sesame seeds. Bake in preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 25 minutes. Garnish with herbs and serve.
