Bring the water to a boil with the lemon juice and sugar. Add the tea bags and the strawberry slices and leave to steep for 10 minutes. Pour through a fine sieve and leave to cool before refrigerating.
Rinse , trim and quarter the strawberries.
Place some strawberry pieces in a punch glass and pour in some of the strawberry infusion. Top with ginger ale (or sparkling wine) and serve with ice if desired.
