3 Tbsps vegetable oil
1 large Apple

12 Nuremberger-style grilled sausages
300 grams Butter cheese (with caraway)

Preparation steps

Drain sauerkraut and loosen slightly. Peel the onions, cut in half lengthwise and cut crosswise into half moons. Heat 2 1/2 tablespoons oil in a pan and sweat onion 3 minutes until soft. Rinse apples, quarter and remove the core. Cut crosswise into 1/2 cm (3/8 inch) thick slices, add to the onions and cook for another 3 minutes.

Mix in the sauerkraut, bring to a boil and season with salt and pepper then set aside. Cut cheese into pieces. Cook the sausages in a pan in remaining oil until browned. Spread sauerkraut on the pans. Cut the sausages in half and place on top of the sauerkraut. Top with cheese and cook in hot Raclette 8-10 min.
