500 grams fresh Sauerkraut
4 Juniper berries
1 splash white wine
salt
1 pinch sugar
1 Tbsp vegetable oil
16 grilled sausages

Preparation steps

1.

Peel and dice the onion. Heat the lard in a large pot and sauté the onion and bay leaf until the onion is softened. Add the sauerkraut, juniper berries and a splash of white wine. Season with salt and sugar, cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan and cook the sausages until browned.

Plate the sausages with the sauerkraut and serve with mustard, if desired.
