Preparation steps

Butter a casserole dish. Peel the potatoes and slice on a kitchen towel into thin slices. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Layer the potato slices into the casserole dish. Stir the milk with the cream and pour over the potatoes. Cook in a preheated oven at 200°C (approximately 400°F) on the middle rack for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
