½ cup unsalted butter
cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 cup all-purpose flour (heaped)
½ tsp Baking powder
1 cup ground, toasted Hazelnuts
1 cup chocolate hazelnut spread
powdered sugar

Preparation steps

1.
Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat until well blended.

Sift in the flour and baking powder and stir until combined, then stir in the ground hazelnuts, taking care not to overmix.
3.
Using your hands roll the dough into a long, thin roll, approx 5cm|2" in diameter. Wrap in cling film and chill for 30 minutes until firm.
4.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Line 2 large baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
5.
Slice the dough into 24-26 rounds and place on the baking trays.
6.
Bake for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Cool on the baking trays for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
7.
Sandwich the biscuits in pairs with the chocolate hazelnut spread. Sift a little icing sugar over the tops.
