- 4 slices white Bread
- 2 Tbsps butter (softened)
- 4 slices Cheddar cheese
- 1 ripe Tomato (rinsed and cut in half crosswise)
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- salt (to taste)
- freshly ground Black pepper (to taste)

Preparation steps

Preheat grill pan over medium heat. Butter one side of each slice of bread. Place 2 slices of bread butter- side-down in the hot grill pan and arrange 2 slices of cheese on top. Place remaining bread slices butter-side-up on top of the sandwich.

Grill until golden brown, about 2 to 3 minutes, turn sandwiches over, continue grilling until the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes.

Brush tomatoes with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Grill tomato halves to desired doneness and serve with grilled cheese sandwiches.
