Preparation

Kitchen utensils

1 Cutting board, 1 Small knife, 1 Baking sheet, 1 Parchment paper, 1 Kitchen towel, 1 Small bowl, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Toothpick, 1 Aluminum grilling pan

Preparation steps

1.
In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, salt, pepper and chopped thyme. Lightly brush 2 slices of bread with the oil mixture.
2.
Heat a skillet over medium heat.
3.
Place sliced mozzarella on the side of the bread that does not have the oil, followed by a layer of tomato slices and deli ham. Brush the remaining two slices of bread lightly with oil mixture and place oil side up on top of ham to make a sandwich.
4.
Place the sandwich in the pan, oiled side down, and cook for about 3 to 4 minutes, or until the side touching the pan is golden brown. Turn the sandwich over, reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking until the cheese is melted and the turned side is nicely browned.
5.
Cut each sandwich in quarters and serve immediately.
