Gluten Free Creamy Turnip and Cheese Bake

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4. Butter a large gratin or baking dish.
Whisk together the cream, flour, garlic, nutmeg, salt, and pepper to taste in a large shallow pan. Add the turnips and bring to a simmer over a medium heat. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes until the turnips have softened.
Put into the baking dish, cover and bake for 35-40 minutes, until the turnips are very tender.
Mix together the butter, breadcrumbs and cheese and sprinkle on top.
Continue cooking, uncovered for a further 10-15 minutes, until the cream mixture is slightly thickened and the top is golden.
