- 2 cups sticky rice (rinsed and drained)
- 4 Chinese sausages (sliced crosswise into 1/2-inch round)
- 1 Tbsp Rice wine
- 3 Tbsps granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsps soy sauce
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 handful fresh Basil

Preparation steps

Place rice, sausage, wine, sugar and soy sauce in a heavy-bottomed medium saucepan, set over medium heat. Add 3 cups cold water and stir to blend. Cover and bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat to low and cook until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender and sticky, about 18 to 20 minutes.

Stir in peas, cover and let stand for about 4 minutes; stir in basil leaves. Divide between bowls and serve.
