Ingredients
- For the burgers
- 1 Baguette
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 onion
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 2 Tbsps chopped parsley
- 600 grams Ground beef
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp ground Cumin
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 200 grams smoked Tofu
- 6 Tbsps olive oil
- For topping
- 50 grams Ketchup
- 1 Tomato
- 1 tsp dried Fresh herbs
- Tabasco sauce (to taste)
- Lettuce (such as romaine)
Preparation steps
For the burgers, cut about 100 grams (approximately 3 1/2 oz) of the baguette into small cubes and soak in water. Peel the garlic and the onion, chop finely and saute in butter until translucent, then set aside and let cool slightly. Pat the tofu dry and cut into small cubes. Squeeze the soaked bread and mix with minced meat, tofu, garlic, onion, parsley, oregano, and cumin, and season with salt and pepper. Form patties with the mixture.
In a pan, heat the rest of the olive oil and cook the patties on both sides, about 8 minutes. Stir the ketchup with the herbs and Tabasco. Cut the tomato into small cubes and stir into the ketchup mixture. Cut the baguette into slices, place on the oven rack and toast for 2-3 minutes at 200°C (approximately 375°F). Cover with salad, top with a hamburger patty, drizzle with the sauce and cover with another slice of bread. Arrange on plates and serve hot.
