Preparation steps

Peel grapefruit with a sharp knife removing white skin and cut out fillets from membranes. Squeeze juice from remaining grapefruit pulp into a bowl. Rinse capers and mix in a bowl with drained olives and grapefruit juice. Add grapefruit fillets, stir in olive oil and season with salt, pepper and sugar to taste.

Cut avocados into quarters, remove pits and peel. Add avocado to the bowl, mix and let soak. Rinse basil, shake dry and pluck off leaves. Rinse lettuce and cut into bite-sized pieces. Arrange lettuce on plates and cover with avocados with marinade. Serve garnished with basil.
