- 4 ½ cups granary Bread flour
- 1 sachet active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ⅓ cups warm water
- 2 Tbsps sunflower oil
- 1 Tbsp sugar

Preparation steps
1.
Grease a 900 g|2 lb loaf tin.
2.
Mix the flour, yeast and salt in a mixing bowl. Stir in the water with the oil and sugar, to form a soft dough.
3.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
4.
Put the dough in the loaf tin, pressing it in evenly. Cover with a tea towel or cling film and leave in a warm place to rise, for about 1 hour until the dough has risen to fill the tin.

Heat the oven to 200°C (180° fan) 400°F gas 6.
6.
Make several slashes across the top of the loaf with a sharp knife, then bake for 30-35 minutes, until the loaf is risen and golden. Turn out onto a wire rack and tap the base of the bread to check it is cooked. It should sound hollow. Place on a wire rack to cool.
