Nutritional values

The apples score points with a good portion of the soluble dietary fibre pectin, which supports digestion without putting great strain on the intestines. The apples also contain various secondary plant substances; they have an antioxidant effect, which means that they protect the body's cells from damage by free radicals.

If you do not like cranberries or if they are not available at the moment, they can be replaced by raisins, for example.

Preparation steps

1.

For the apples: Peel and core apples with an apple corer. Prick apples with a fork several times. Place the apples in a greased baking dish. Drizzle with lemon juice and honey. Bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (approximately 400°F) for about 15 minutes, turning every 5 minutes. Remove and let cool slightly.

2.

For the dough: Beat butter and cottage cheese. Gradually add eggs and powdered sugar. Combine flour and baking powder and fold into filling.

3.

Line the bottom of a springform pan (24 cm or 10 inches in diameter) with parchment paper. Press half the dough into the pan.

Fill apples with cranberries, then cover apples with remaining dough. Place apples in the pan and sprinkle with almonds. Bake for 45-50 minutes.

Remove and let cool. Carefully remove from the pan and serve dusted with remaining sugar.
