- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 red chili peppers
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
- 400 grams crushed Tomatoes (canned)
- 2 Tbsps balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tbsps brown sugar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- salt
- Tabasco sauce
- freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

Peel and finely dice the onion and garlic. Rinse and halve the chilis. Trim and julienne the chilis. Heat the oil in a pan, and sauté the onion, garlic, and chilis. Add the tomato paste, and sauté briefly.

Mix in the tomatoes balsamic vinegar, sugar, oregano, and thyme. Simmer for 25 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Puree the mixture, then season to taste with salt, tabasco, and pepper. Remove from the heat and cool.
