- 4 ½ cups whole-wheat bread flour
- ¼ oz active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 ⅓ cups warm water
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 Tbsp clear honey

Preparation steps
1.
Put the flour, yeast and salt into a mixing bowl and stir until mixed.
2.
Stir in the water, oil and honey and mix to a soft dough.
3.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes, until the dough no longer feels sticky, sprinkling with a little more flour if needed.

Grease a loaf tin.

Put the dough in the tin, pressing it in evenly. Cover with a damp tea towel or oiled cling film and leave in a warm place to rise for about 1 hour, until the dough has risen to fill the tin and no longer springs back when you press it with your finger.
6.
Heat the oven to 200°C (180° fan) 400°F gas 6.
7.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until the loaf is risen and golden. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
