- For the jar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup chopped Hazelnuts
- ¾ cup caster sugar
- 3 ½ ozs Dark chocolate (60% cocoa solids, chopped)
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- ½ cup whole Hazelnuts
- 3 ½ ozs Milk chocolate (30% cocoa solids, chopped)
- To make
- 1 cup butter (melted)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
Preparation steps

For the jar: layer the ingredients in the order listed in a large sealable jar. Seal tightly.

To make: heat the oven to 190°C (170° fan) 375°F gas 5. Grease 2 large baking trays.

Beat together the butter with the contents of the jar in a mixing bowl until blended. Beat in the vanilla and eggs to a smooth dough.

Divide the dough into 2 equal portions. Roll each into a log shape 5cm|2" in diameter. Wrap them in cling film and chill for at least 30 minutes.

Cut the logs into slices 2 cm|3/4" thick and place on the baking trays, widely spaced apart. Bake for 9-12 minutes until golden brown. Cool on the trays for 5 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
