Preparation steps

Preheat the oven to 180 ° C upper and lower heat.

Halve garlic and rub gratin dish with it, butter the dish.

Peel potatoes and place into cold water. Whisk cream with salt, pepper and nutmeg. Slice potatoes thinly with vegetable slicer and arrange in a pan. Pour cream over until potatoes are just covered. Sprinkle with cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180°C (approximately 350°F) for about 45 minutes or until golden brown. If gratin browns too quickly, cover with aluminum foil. Remove from oven and serve.
