Ingredients
4 T bone Steak (approx. 400 g each)
2 Tbsps vegetable oil
4 onions (sliced into rings)
1 cup baby peppers (e. g. green and yellow)
How healthy are the main ingredients?
onion

Preparation steps

1.
Take the steaks out of the refrigerator around 30 minutes before grilling, so that the meat cooks evenly and the temperature difference is not too great.
2.
Brush the steaks lightly with oil. Season with salt and ground black pepper and place on the barbecue. Cooking time varies depending on the thickness and quality of the meat:
3.
Cook the steaks for 2-3 minutes on each side. After a further 2-3 minutes, the steak will be cooked rare. To check, press lightly with your finger in the centre of the meat and compare it with the resistance of the ball of your thumb. Rare meat feels like the ball of your thumb when it is touching your index finger. After a further 1-2 minutes, the meat is medium rare. There is more resistance now, like when you put your thumb together with your middle finger. The meat will be medium after a further 1-2 minutes, comparable to when you put your thumb and ring finger together. The steak will be well done after another 1-2 minutes, with firm resistance as when you place your thumb against your little finger.
4.
Take the steaks off the grill rack and rest for a few minutes before serving, wrapped in aluminium foil.
5.
Put the onions and peppers in a barbecue tray and drizzle with 1 tbsp oil. Season with salt and ground black pepper and cook on the barbecue for around 8 minutes.
6.
Sprinkle the meat with coarse sea salt and serve with the onions.
