Ingredients

5 untreated Oranges
1 handful Basil
2 Tbsps Apple syrup
100 milliliters dry white wine
salt
cayenne pepper
½ tsp sweet ground paprika
½ tsp ground cilantro
1 Tbsp olive oil
4 Chicken drumstick

Preparation steps

1.

Juice 2 of the oranges. Rinse the remaining oranges, pat dry and slice.  Rinse the basil, shake dry, set aside  some leaves for garnish coarsely chop the rest.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

In a bowl, stir together the apple juice, white wine, orange juice, some salt and pepper, the paprika, coriander and the chopped basil.

Brush a casserole dish large enough to hold the chicken in a single layer with the oil. Rinse the chicken, pat dry, and brush with some of the apple juice mixture. Place the orange slices into the dish along with the remaining apple juice mixture. Place the chicken legs on top and bake until golden brown and cooked through, about 35 minutes. Remove from the oven,  and serve the chicken with the orange slices and pan juices. Garnish with the reserved basil.

5.

Serve as desired white bread.
