- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- 400 milliliters Beef broth
- 400 grams crushed Tomatoes
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 1 pinch sugar
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 500 grams Ground meat (veal)
- 1 Tbsp freshly chopped thyme
- 1 Tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 egg
- 1 generous pinch lemon zest (organic)
- 2 Tbsps breadcrumbs
- 200 grams Durum wheat

Preparation steps
1.
Peel onion and garlic and finely chop. Heat oil in a pot and saute onion and garlic together until soft. Add broth and crushed tomato, mix and season with salt, pepper, sugar and lemon juice. Simmer for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, knead ground meat in a bowl with herbs, egg, lemon zest and breadcrumbs and season with salt and pepper. Form small balls from the ground meat mixture.
3.
Sprinkle durum wheat into the pot for tomato sauce, place meatballs in the pot, cover and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally and add broth as needed.
4.
Serve meatballs while hot.
