- 2 onions
- 3 Tbsps Pastry flour
- Vegetable fat (for frying)
- 1 Lettuce
- 100 grams (approximately 3 1/2 ounces) canned Kidney beans
- 1 jarred Jalapeño
- 1 Pickle
- 2 slices Bacon
- 4 Hot dogs
- 4 Hot dog buns
- Mustard
- Ketchup

Preparation steps

Peel halve and cut the onions into strips. Sprinkle with the flour and toss to coat. Pour oil to come up about an inch in a deep saucepan or fryer, and heat to 170°C (approximately 340°F. Working in batches, cook the onions until golden brown, 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Wash the lettuce and spin dry. Rinse and drain the beans. Thinly slice the jalapeno and pickle. Cut the bacon into small pieces and saute in a dry skillet until crisp.

Drop the hot dogs in a pan of hot water to heat. Split the buns lengthwise. Serve the hot dogs with salad, beans, jalapenos and bacon on the side. Top with mustard, ketchup on onions.
