4 Plaice fillet
9 ounces shiitake mushrooms (finely sliced)
1 tablespoon fresh, thinly sliced ginger
¼ teaspoon salt
freshly ground Black pepper
4 teaspoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon Corn starch
½ teaspoon toasted sesame oil (to taste)
To garnish
very thinly sliced onions

1 Baking sheet, 1 Bowl, 1 Small bowl, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Wooden spoon, 1 Brush, 1 Immersion blender, 1 deep bowl, 1 Parchment paper, 1 Oven rack

Preparation steps

Put the fish into a shallow heatproof dish or plate large enough to fit in a steamer. Scatter each fillet with the mushrooms, ginger, salt and pepper to taste.

Cover and steam over a high heat for 15-18 minutes, until the fish is cooked and flakes easily when tested.
3.
Pour off the liquid into a pan and bring to a boil.
4.
Mix together the soy sauce, cornflour and water. Add to the pan and return to a boil. Stir in the sesame oil.
5.
Put the fish on a serving plate and pour the sauce around. Garnish with onion slices and coriander.
