Preparation steps

1.

For the burgers: Place the meat in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Shape into 4 1 cm (approximately 1/2 inch) thick patties.

2.

For the pineapple: Peel the pineapple and cut into 4 slices. Cut out the woody middle. Rinse the scallions and cut to 10 cm (approximately 4 inch) long pieces.

For the sauce: In a bowl, stir the mayonnaise with the sour cream and mustard. Season with the salt, pepper and maple syrup to taste.

3.

For the burgers: Heat the oil in a skillet. Cook the patties until golden, about 3-5 minutes per side.

For the pineapple: Heat the butter in another skillet. Add the pineapple and cook for 2-3 minutes per side. Add the scallions to warm through.

4.

For assembling: Cut the buns in half. Toast in a hot skillet with the cut surfaces facing down.

Spread some of the mayonnaise mixture on the bottom bun halves. Place a lettuce leaf, scallions, burger patty and pineapple slice on top of each. Place more scallions and a spoonful of the mayonnaise mixture on top. Top with the remaining bun halves.
